The kick-off meeting is planned as a two-day event: The first day is devoted to the 1st project steering committee (PSC) meeting for agreeing on administrative and organisational matters. A scientific workshop is held on January 20, 2006.

Thursday 19th January 2006, Project Steering Committee Meeting

Required participants:

a) designated PSC members as listed in the CA: Ari Hottinen, Holger Boche, Giorgio Taricco, Gerald Matz, Helmut Bölcskei, Ezio Biglieri, Christoph Mecklenbräuker (cfm), unavailable PSC members need to appoint a proxy or change the representative.

b) Workpackage leaders (Gerald Matz, Helmut Bölcskei, Giorgio Taricco)

c) Horst Rode, financial manager of ftw., Katja Kapfer, ftw. project controlling

Optional participants: all MASCOT researchers.

Proposed PSC meeting agenda:

  1. 14:00 cfm: formal appointment of project steering committee (PSC)
    1. the signed originals of the Consortium Agreement are handed over to the PSC members.
  2. 14:15 cfm: scheduling of the next PSC meetings during 2006 and 2007)
    1. PSC mailing list was created on January 17, 2006: mascot_psc@ftw.at
    2. For discussion: Do we need a software tool for voice/video/web conferencing, such as the tool used in NewCom or Cisco MeetingPlace (used in MAGNET Beyond)?
  3. 14:30 cfm: travel-related procedures: Is it true that travels outside of Europe need special endorsement from the PSC or Coordinator? to be checked by Christoph. Or otherwise the travel costs might not be eligible.
  4. 14:45 overview presentations by workpackage leaders,
